Breast Friend Lactation

Welcome to BF Lactation for Breastfeeding support!

Why choose Breastmilk for your baby(ies)? Breast milk is proven to be the best nutrition, the gold standard for infants. Breast milk is the easiest milk for babies to digest. Breastfeeding creates a wonderful attachment with baby, while providing natural nutrition, and passive immunity. Breastfeeding can mean providing breast milk even beyond latching at the breast! My goal is to help provide breastfeeding support to new families, to help you meet your breastfeeding goals.

Do you need support? Breastfeeding is instinct combined with troubleshooting. Many new parents need support in the first days, and even the first months and beyond. Our medical institutions may not always provide a lactation education to expectant moms, and often medical staff that serve us in labor and delivery, aren’t educated in lactation. Consequently, many new parents go home from delivery with challenges that require support. IBCLCs are specialists in lactation; our main role is to help improve breastfeeding outcomes for lactating families.

I’m an IBCLC (lactation consultant) who is passionate about working with women/parents in lactation. BREAST FRIEND Lactation offers support through prenatal education and postpartum guidance in breastfeeding & pumping, offering techniques to help you succeed in breastfeeding. If you’re wanting to pump, or plan a Return to Work, you may want to learn about pumping and flange fit.

Reach out anytime before or during your lactating journey. 🙂

About Me

I’m Gina, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC);
I’ve been working to help parents in lactation for 10 years,
I’ve been a breastfeeding mother for nearly 5 years.
I hold a B.A. and M.A. degree, and have worked as an Educator for 20 years.

I know what it’s like to need support! My personal experience includes breastfeeding my own 3 children for 4.5 years. Near the end of my breastfeeding journey, I became a 7-year volunteer for the hospital program that supported me! In recent years I’ve worked in a clinic as a breastfeeding specialist, communicating with many mothers/parents about their breastfeeding journeys. So many shared their struggles in breastfeeding, whether it be just after baby is delivered, or months down the road. In this I recognize that new mothers are willing to accept an issue is with them, but many times the struggle is due to a lack of knowledge on how lactation works. My goal is to help change this!
